About Postpartum Depression

What is Postpartum Depression?

Postpartum Depression (PPD), also known as Perinatal Mental Health Anxiety Disorder, is a serious mental health problem characterized by a prolonged period of emotional disturbances, occurring at a time of major life change, & increased responsibilities in the care of a newborn infant. PPD can have significant consequences for both the new mother and family. Therefore, this is not fake, it is not a joke and the person is not just trying to draw your attention. If anything being faked here is their happiness!!

The first step in this illness is recognizing the signs, please return to the Home Tab to see the symptoms to identify if you or a loved one has two or more of the symptoms and get the help you/they need TODAY!! We also provide help to fathers who are seeking guidance towards getting more knowledge of how they can also be suffering from this illness and what to do about it.

Counseling is not only for the mentally unstable as social stigmas/myths would like us to believe, it is for those seeking help when there is no control over our actions/behaviors leading us to regretful/shameful events in our lives. Feel no shame in saying "I need help" and find it today. Without even knowing it, you could be saving a life with your decision.
